Hasn't their corsi and PDO been better during these losses? Those advanced stat dweebs can suck it! Calgary is playing hard and losing close games, while out chancing, and out shooting their opponents. They have ran into some hot teams and hot goalies of late, it happens. |

Well their PDO has been worse but their corsi has been higher. The flames had a bad give away which made them lose this game. They easily could of won it this game. They were pretty evenly matched up in the first two periods. Chicago just has the skill and ability to elevate their game that the flames do not have.
Wideman is looking pretty damn good on the defensive side of the game. Had one time were andrew shaw beat him badly but recovered and pushed him to the outside. |

And for the slower posters of the world(whip, fake whip), I'm referring that you have to try harder to get to that 13 like us. |

Unfortunately we have to much pride in our players to lose 13 in a row. However, I was secretly hoping that we would have another season like last years (close games but losing enough to get a good draft pick).
I think wideman might be worth a first round pick.
Remember Hartley turn Bouwmeester from someone you debated buying out into a first round pick and olympic player. |

The Adirondack Flames couldn't even get to 13. |

I went into this season thinking it would be a learning season and probably a high draft pick. I'm happy to see them compete every night. The look on Johnny's face after the give away that lead to the gwg said that he learned from that move. He'll remember that for a long time. Then his sick move along the boards that then missed Russel across ice was unreal. This team has a lot going for it. I still think we might be able to get in at #8 spot. If we don't then just a little more patience is all. |

Agreed...it's all a process. That being said I don't like seeing them lose 5 in a row haha. But they have actually been playing really good, so it's all still a positive step IMO. |

Oilers finally fired Eakins. Maybe they climb out of the basement and lose out on McEichel. I f'n hope so. I will puke if they get 1 of them. |

So lets get this straight, in a five year span while in one rebuild, they fire mctavish as coach, hire him as gm, he fires a coach, and makes himself coach again. Progress! |

In hindsight he really was the guy that got the most out of the teams given to him. |

I'd pull a Lindros and refuse to sign if I were him. Edmonton is a prospect killer right now. |

Then we would get a Forsberg in the trade?

It could be the best thing to happen to the Oilers (and McDavid ) Maybe McDavid gets them enough pieces to finally ice an NHL team |

Speaking of prospects...what's the story with Austin Carroll? He's got 38 points in 33 games this season, has he always been a point-per-game guy? I'd never heard of him before the draft and I'm too lazy to look him up. |

I think he's an overager this season. This past draft certainly wasn't the first draft for which he was eligible. |

Don't think there's too much to learn from that play to be honest. He slipped doing something he does a lot during the game. The defencemen had both pushed, which is exactly how we've been generating offence all season. If he doesn't slip, then we have a 5-on-3 turning into a 4-on-2 after Johnny puts a pass across. That's the sort of play that scored us our lone goal on the night. We just haven't really been exposed because, well, Johnny doesn't slip. |

Against a team with as great a transition as Chicago I would think his number one objective is to get the puck deep, especially when a guy named Toews is on the ice. I think he should have dumped and chased given who was on the ice. |

Agreed! There's a time to pull up and try to make a play and there's a time to get the puck deep when the opposition has their best on the ice. You can't trade chances with a team like the Hawks. I think there was a lesson there for sure. |
